For light I go directly to the Source of light, not to any of the reflections. - Peace Pilgrim

Wedding & Commitments

One of the most joyful aspects of ministry is the opportunity to work with couples to create and officiate at their wedding or commitment ceremonies. I am honored to work with straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender couples.

Together we can create a personalized ceremony that can:

  • blend aspects of different faith traditions to honor both individuals.
  • be spiritual but not necessarily religious.
  • address the Divine by any name you are comfortable with or not at all.
  • include some traditional elements and some more personal ideas.
  • express your creativity, personality and be all about YOU.
  • reflect your personal journey as individuals and as a couple.
  • engage your guests and include a vow of community support.
  • be a simple civil service that honors your personal beliefs.
Being non-denominational/interfaith, and not of one particular religion, I am ordained through One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, instead of through a church. I am comfortable serving couples of traditional religions and with mixed backgrounds. This can be particularly helpful for couples and families of more than one faith, who want to blend elements of two or more traditions into a meaningful ceremony.

Baby Blessings & Celebrations of Parenthood

The purpose of a blessing ceremony for a newborn is to consciously sanctify the entrance of a soul into the world, that this soul might walk through their life remembering their true essence. It is to give thanks for the miracle of new life, to support the mother and father in stepping into parenthood consciously, with love and clarity. It is to acknowledge the sacred role of others in the child’s life - e.g., grandparents, godparents - as guardians offering unconditional love, acceptance and wisdom to this new generation. Finally, it is to acknowledge and honor the interconnectedness of the child and family with the larger community, and even with of all creation. It is a ceremony of great celebration, gratitude and joy. - Rev. Miranda Holden

Life-Cycle Events & Rituals

Taking time to honor life's transitions and milestones allows us to experience them more fully, and to integrate their corresponding gifts of wisdom into our daily lives. In between the baby blessings, weddings, and funerals, there is a lot of life happening!
  • Moving into a new home or apartment
  • Welcoming a new member of the family
  • Special anniversaries
  • Divorce or separation from a partner
  • Retirement celebrations
  • Starting a new job or promotion
  • Graduations
  • Achievements, awards and accomplishments
  • Transitioning into adulthood
  • Surgery, illness or miscarriage
  • New Years and other new beginnings
  • Milestone birthdays (13, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100)
  • Changing of the seasons
  • and many others
Rituals can be either simple or elaborate. They can add a spiritual dimension to celebrations, or a peaceful element to times of transition for a family or individual. When a group of people share the experience of a ritual, it creates a sense of community and support that often lasts long after the last candle is blown out. I invite you to contact me to talk about how you can bring a sense of the sacred into your every day transitions and celebrations.

May we walk with grace, and
may the light of the universe shine upon our path.
