Funerals & Memorial Services
The death of a loved one can be devastating. It can be a time of shock and disbelief, and in the case of protracted illness, sometimes a blessed relief. The passing of a life needs to be honored in some way. It is a  sorrowful time. A funeral or memorial service gives us a chance to reflect and to say goodbye to the physical form of the person we have known and loved. It helps us to be able to go on living.

When someone is a member of a particular religious or faith group, the service is typically performed by a member of that organization. However, many people do not consider themselves religious or as belonging to a particular faith tradition. The family may choose to have an Interfaith Minister create and conduct a funeral or memorial service which honors the life and beliefs of their loved one.
A funeral or memorial service can be traditional or creative, elaborate or simple. Did the person leave any written or verbal instructions or wishes with regard to the service?  Are there any favorite spiritual or literary passages, poetry, or other readings that would be especially meaningful to include? Did the person have any favorite songs or music? Will there be any sharing and remembrances by family and friends? The memorial service is often a lasting part of the way a loved one is remembered. We can work together to make sure that the lasting impression is one of love, respect and closure.

Beloved Animals

Animal companions enrich our lives every day with their unconditional love and loyalty. It is natural that we should honor their passing with a special time to reflect and say goodbye. Whether you are having a burial, a scattering of ashes, or simply a memorial, we can create a dignified service that captures the special kind of relationship we share with our animal friends.
